Flooring options may be one of the most difficult decisions for a homeowner to make. Whether it is deciding on what is most allergy friendly to deciding what will work best with kids and pets, it is a difficult decision for most homeowners to make. Many of our customers decide to mix flooring options. For example some homeowners decide to carpet the TV or Media area, use hardwood in the bar area, and tile the bathroom. Obviously costs are always a factor, but there are several ways to save or splurge depending on which you chose.
Flooring Options
Egress is usually required in all cities and townships. There are some who do not require it however, almost all homeowners will decide to use it for safety purposes. Egress basically means exiting or a way out and according to Pa.Code 82.17, a minimum of 2 exits per floor should be provided. In most cases installation of a proper size window can meet the egress requirements. In other cases, when a city/township has adopted the Fire and Panic Act, a window cannot act as an exit route and another exit door must be installed.
The easiest way to figure out exactly what is required is to contact your township or city office, or better yet let us do it for you! We have worked with several city and townships over the years, and chances are we will know the answer.
